Luke Sykes

LukeS@decarbonise.au

Luke has been working in Energy and Sustainability for 9 years. He takes a wholistic systems approach to projects bringing together multiple engineering disciplines to solve problems.

Luke is pragmatic that efficiency and technology have delivered and will continue to deliver massive benefits in building and process performance. Up until recently the driver for deployments have been driven exclusively by operational cost reductions. With changes in consumer behaviour, sustainable focused investors and readily available information this has started to change, and only likely to accelerate.

With Mandatory Climate Reporting putting a number to emissions via inventories, the same forces of technology and innovation that have taken office space to use 70% less energy than they did 50-years ago will now be wielded onto different problem sets.

Under Luke’s leadership at Decarbonise we look forward to supporting your emissions journey, whether evaluating your emissions, qualifying a technology, planning the next 10-years or supporting Capital works.

John Martin

JohnM@decarbonise.au

John is a proud Wiradjuri man born on Gomeroi lands. John has decades of experience across carbon reduction, power quality and facilities roadmaps, his first professional connection with efficiency and renewables dating back to the 1990s.

John cut his teeth with domestic solar (PV and hot water) before impacting on early adoption in the commercial solar industry. His work in commercial efficiency boasts a long list of successful energy upgrades for repeat clients from sectors including: manufacturing, education, retail, hotels, supermarkets, food processing and accommodation. He and his team used an agnostic multi technology approach to ensure the best project outcomes for each client.

John has experience with multi-site large client degasification roadmaps, including using heat pumps to replace gas boilers and central heating plants. Also, in John’s repertoire are high voltage infrastructure upgrades and using CO2, R290 and natural refrigerants in the replacement of hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants.

Perhaps one John’s greatest strengths is supporting sustainability teams through the project presentation and approval process in difficult environments and with leadership teams that are not fully committed to the outcomes.

He is a mentor and leader for all those in his circle and continues to volunteer his time facilitating healthy relationships, consent education and harm minimisation programmes for 12-25s in his community.
